Listen in: ACT Independent Senator David Pocock speaks about The Forgotten River campaign

On a crisp Friday morning in January 2024, Dr. Siwan Lovett (Managing Director at the Australian River Restoration Centre) and ACT Independent Senator David Pocock sat down to discuss The Forgotten River campaign and the health and future of the Upper Murrumbidgee. Senator Pocock also spoke about his experience growing up in Zimbabwe, his passion for the environment, and his former Rugby career.

“We’ve got to find ways to meet our needs without destroying the very thing we rely on... not just for food and clothing, but for our mental and spiritual wellbeing.”

This campaign is coordinated by the Australian River Restoration Centre on behalf of a consortium of partners who care deeply about the Upper Murrumbidgee River.

We acknowledge Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and recognise their continuing connection with, and knowledge about, land, waters and community. We pay our respects to them and their cultures; and to Elders past, present and emerging.
