Our Forgotten River receives a lot of love in World Rivers Day campaign!

Paddlers on the Mighty Murrumbidgee near Bredbo Gorge.

In a show of support for our Upper 'Bidgee, many locals have come together and chosen to shout out the Murrumbidgee River for World Rivers Day this year.

The #ShoutOutOurRivers campaign invited community members to share posts, videos and stories about their favourite rivers throughout September, and it was terrific to see the Murrumbidgee River represented among the mix of many powerful messages about rivers across the country.

Thank you to the community for highlighting this river's personal, cultural, and ecological significance, and promoting its continued advocacy and recovery. Thank you also to the campaign for promoting a growing awareness of the importance of all rivers across Australia and the world, and reminding us that the health, wellbeing and sustainability of our rivers is deeply intertwined with the wellbeing — and dedication — of our local communities.
